Auf dem Hof weint ein Kind
es weint ein Mädchen:
Die Mutter ist zur Arbeit,
der Bruder ist zur Schule,
der Vater hat gedroht:
Wenn du leben willst –
komm nicht nach Hause!
Aber wie kann man leben,
ohne nach Hause zu kommen?

Beautiful art. I like the roots (the origin) , the spiral-journey of growth in-between and the branches and leaves sprouting above from the experiences and growth (my interpretation).

This is a remarkably powerful poem. In just a few lines, it conveys a depth of loneliness, fear, and emotional abandonment that many longer works struggle to achieve.
What strikes me most is the heartbreaking simplicity of the child’s question: „But how can one live without coming home?“ It transforms the poem from a personal scene into a universal reflection on belonging, safety, and the fundamental human need for a place where one is accepted and loved.
This is a meaningful pairing–your expression of the necessary tree of life and, from the poem, how that circle nonetheless can be „threatened“ (from the translation of the translation, I suppose).

Lieber Bernd, ich gehe intuitiv vor, wie meist in allem, was ich tue. Ich wähle Gedichte, ich lese viele davon…..bücherweise. Und dann wähle ich einfach etwas aus, was mich anspricht. Erst danach überlege ich, welches meiner Bilder dafür geeignet sein könnte, welche Assoziationen ein Gedicht in mir auslöst usw.
